Under favorable growing conditions, Colorado Blue Spruce trees can live for several decades, with an average lifespan of 30 to 60 years. Transplant the cutting into the ground in early autumn by digging a small hole, placing the baby tree and the contents of the pot into the hole, backfilling it, and then spreading a thick layer of mulch around the base.
